Swingin’ on a Star

So you see it’s all up to you
You can be better than you are
You could be swingin’ on a star

I love the lyrics to “Swingin’ on a Star” and found they resonated with me in a scene with my heroine. She’s humming the song and realises she can do more with her life and not be caught in the daily grind. It’s a defining moment for her πŸ™‚

The good news is I’ve finished the manuscript “Swinging on a Star” and will be soon subbing to a publisher.

So do you have any good news you’ve like to share? I’d love to hear πŸ™‚

  1. Isn’t it strange how a song can just bring back a flood of memories! I can see my school in Perth in 1968. It must have been a hit about then. Congrats on getting the submission done. Enjoy the weekend πŸ™‚

  2. Hi Alison – how lovely when a song bring back memories πŸ™‚

A bit of trivia – the song was sung by Bing Crosby in 1944, Frank Sinatra did a version in 1964 and Dave van Ronk did a cover in 1968 – perhaps Dave’s version is what you’re remembering? πŸ™‚ It’s a catchy tune πŸ™‚

    Thanks for dropping by.
