Some Enchanted Evening

On the weekend I went to see the wonderful stage production of South Pacific! What a spectacular event!!!

I just loved the singing and dancing but the highlight for me was Kate Cebrano singing Bali Hai – just amazing. If you get a chance to see this production, I encourage you to go. For romantics like me, what’s not to love about a stage show with a Rodgers and Hammerstein score? 🙂

I like to link my posts back to my writing and have to confess I’ve always loved musicals, especially from the 1950s. I’m now plotting a new manuscript and my heroine loves musicals (surprise, surprise!!!) I might just have to include her humming bars from “Some Enchanted Evening” 😉

So do you like musicals? What’s your favourite?

Romance Book Club – first meeting

My romance book club has started and our first catch up was a huge success. Not only had everyone read the book but we all loved it.

I have to confess it was a little scary selecting a book for the group. What if they didn’t like it? What if I didn’t like it? Silly really. I’d chosen a wonderful book, Julie Cohen’s The Summer of Living Dangerously. Julie also dropped by on Facebook to say hi – thanks Julie 🙂

So the next in turn chose their book – A Very Accidental Love Story by Claudia Carrol – and with a click of a button it was on my kindle 🙂 With such a gorgeous cover and blurb, I knew I was going to like it and I wasn’t disappointed.

What’s great about book club is not only the social aspect but also having the opportunity to read books I may not have known/seen or thought about reading. The best bit – it’s a romance book club so I know all the books will be romantic or have romance themes – perfect don’t you think? 🙂
